Follow the Winter Workout Motivation Ideas

It’s difficult to leave the house in the winter, and it’s even more difficult to leave the house to work out when it’s cold, dark, and oh-so-cozy warm indoors. We’ve compiled a list of five suggestions to help you find the motivation buried deep within your winter coat.

Schedule Time In Your Calendar.

Pull up your calendar and plan out your workouts before the start of each week. Choose a workout time for each day of the week. Keep track of your appointments. You must go unless anything physically prevents you from doing so, such as picking up the kids or assisting your parents.

Make A Partner to Hold You Accountable.

Do you have a spouse or a friend that shares your passion for fitness? Inquire if they’d be willing to be your accountability partner! Send that person a text the night before telling them you’re going to work out at a certain time the next day, and then let them perform a small happy dance with you once you’ve both finished! Are you at a loss on who to call? Good day, social media. Make a Facebook or Instagram story about it! You could even inspire someone else to get up and move.

Determine Your Hype Personality Type.

What exactly is a hype type? Whatever it is that you must do will energize you. While getting ready, turn on some music; it may even be a guilty pleasure playlist. Warm up your car so that all it takes is a brief run through the cold to get it warmed up. Before you begin your day, spend 30 minutes sipping your coffee in silence. Do whatever it takes to get you motivated to complete the workout.

Set A Goal for Yourself and Reward Yourself for Achieving It.

Who else will you celebrate if you don’t? Set a goal for yourself at the start of the week to complete three workouts in a seven-day period. Did you score that goal? Get yourself a Starbucks! Spend some money on a post-workout smoothie. Make a point of doing something you enjoy and remember to reward yourself.

At the end of the day, the cold weather is only another reason to add to the never-ending list of “why nots.” However, what about your to be a healthier version of yourself? To be self-assured in your physical, mental, and social abilities? Stop getting in your own way and get moving.
